About Us
Supervisor: Prof. Philippe Renaud

We are a team of 11 motivated EPFL Master students representing Switzerland. We study Microengineering, Bioengineering and Technology management. Our commun interest in biomedical applications brought us together at the 2019 SensUs competition.

This year the project is about creating a biomedical device able to measure the concentration of adalimumab in plasma for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The need for such device is critical as adalimumab is amongst the most costly treatment for health insurances. We are confident that our solution will reduce healthcare costs and greatly improve treatment monitoring for the patient.

We developed a fast, sensitive and easy-to-use biosensor with the objective to commercialize it at the point-of-care to maximize value for patients. Our biosensor can detect any protein-based analyte through the combination of a nanohole array, plasmonic technology and gold nanoparticles.
This project greatly improved our creativity, technical knowledge as well as our ability to work in a team.

We appreciate your support and hope to meet you during the competition at Eindhoven.
